DFSS Summer 2013 SENIOR LIFE ENRICHMENT GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE
The summer issue of the Chicago Department of Family and Support Service’s Senior Life Enrichment Guide is now available at our office, at the department’s regional and satellite senior centers, libraries and many other locations.
Inside the guide, seniors will find information about health and wellness, educational, recreational and many other types of events, trips, classes and lectures, along with schedules and registration details. Most of these are free or at a nominal cost.
The contents of the guide are also posted online here. Further information about DFSS services and programs is available by calling the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) at (312) 744-4016.

Lincoln Park Village
Lincoln Park Village is a grassroots, not-for-profit membership community. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life and the well-being of individuals as they live longer, so that they remain integral, vibrant and contributing members of their community. Village activities, events and services are delivered with customized attention and help build strong neighbor-to-neighbor connections and friendships. The Member-Plus Program ensures that residents of modest means can join the Village and have funds for services. Assisting the Village are university interns, more than 130 vetted service providers, and partners –including CJE SeniorLife, Mather LifeWays and Rush University Medical Center – recognized for exceptional experience in providing health and wellness services to the adult population.

Vulnerability Based Triage
The mission of the Bethany Methodist Corporation is the provision of health and housing services for the elderly and other vulnerable populations. One component of our mission has been to offer a free community service that responds to in home crisis situations. Our program provides evaluations for clients in medical or psychiatric distress with recommendations for intervention and/or continuing care. Our professional staff includes physicians, paramedics, nurses and social workers. Triage personnel work closely with facility/agency staff and family members to ensure that the most appropriate level of care is implemented. We are also available to provide education regarding health care resources.
